Oldest Dairy Queen to close shop Print E-mail

Springfield's downtown Dairy Queen store will close on Friday. Time is running out for you to get your last treat at the oldest Dairy Queen in the nation. Ralph "Bud" Bergstrom opened the first Dairy Queen store west of the Mississippi in the 1940's. He then expanded to the Jefferson store in the 1960's.
